This piece is done on sheets of mylar overlayed on top of one another...here's a pic of what it looks like while lit from behind. There are several layers of thick gold leaf, oil and acrylics underneath the outer layers that you can only see if there is a strong enough light behind the painting. Earlier photos of the painting are available in my gallery...you can see how the piece evolved quite a bit. It was just exhibited in a show for "union-friendly" artists in Ottawa, Canada. Damn commies... *wink
hey, nice work. Reminds me of all that footage of american troops torming into the iraqi peoples' houses and fucking shit up looking for nothing, then paying them off for their troubles.
painting AKs sucks.
(what the hell is mylar anyway, you've mentioned it a few times in your work...)
Solid work. I finally, after months and months get to look
at something very impressive. Congrats on the show in Ottawa.
If you're in TO at any point - I'd love to get a beer.
I've got a show opening in Oct. with two other painters.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
